Shelter Advocate (Full Time)

The Shelter Advocate’s overall responsibilities include providing a safe and empowering environment to the guests, assisting with their shelter needs, and managing in-kind donations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Commitment to serving victims of domestic violence
  • Initiative, resourcefulness, flexibility, and reliability
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Ability to climb stairs and implement emergency procedures when necessary
  • High School Diploma or GED

Hours: Full-time; Tuesday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Must be flexible; All Shelter Advocates are expected to work some holidays.

Salary: $11/Hour

Hotline Advocate (Full Time - Overnight)             

The Hotline Advocate's overall responsibility is answering all calls on the crisis hotline and providing crisis intervention, safety planning, assessing caller's needs and determining eligibility for our shelter, and making appropriate referrals to callers affected by domestic violence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to learn and use effective communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Basic computer skills

Hours: 11 pm - 7 am, Sunday - Thursday. All Hotline Advocates are expected to work some holidays. 

Salary: $11/Hour

Hotline Advocate (Weekend Part-Time)

The Hotline Advocate's overall responsibility is answering all calls on the crisis hotline and providing crisis intervention, safety planning, assessing caller's needs and determining eligibility for our shelter, and making appropriate referrals to callers affected by domestic violence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to learn and use effective communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Basic computer skills

Hours: Friday - Sunday, Shifts vary; Required to work some holidays. 

Salary: $11.00/hour
