Each April, the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) helps lead communities throughout the country in their annual observances of National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW), which will be observed April 10-16, 2016. This year's theme - Serving Victims. Building Trust. Restoring Hope. - underscores the importance of early intervention and victim services in establishing trust with victims, which in turn begins to restore their hope for healing and recovery.
This year's NCVRW Theme Video highlights how serving victims and building trust restores hope and strengthens communities.
This annual event is held in communities across the country to promote victims' rights, honor crime victims and recognize those who advocate on their behalf. This years' Survivor Speaker will be Women & Children First's Peacekeeper Julia Grundy.
This candlelight vigil will honor people who have experienced violence and raise awareness in our community.
This project is supported by a National Crime Victims' Right Week Community Awareness Project subgrant awarded by the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrations under a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant from the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.
