Meet Jen – WCF Peacekeeper
Jen Spore joined the Peacekeepers in February 2015 after speaking with Gloria Redman about an interest in becoming more involved in the community. As soon as she joined, Jen was hooked. She has served on event committees, volunteered at shelter parties, and helped with the Gentle Jungle. She was recently elected as the PK Membership Chair.
Jen’s favorite thing about the Peacekeepers is the many opportunities for service. She loves that as a peacekeeper, there are ways to help with fundraising by serving on an event committee, volunteer opportunities at the shelter parties, chances to help weekly in the Gentle Jungle, and chances to assist WCF on other special projects. “I truly believe that there is no greater contribution or responsibility in life than loving and serving others,” Jen said. “And I’m so thankful that this belief is shared by so many other Peacekeepers.”
Jen is originally from Mountain Home, AR. She graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a B.S. in Dietetics and Nutrition and completed her Dietetic Internship at UAMS. She currently works at CHI St. Vincent as a Clinical Dietitian. Jen is a very active member of the Little Rock non-profit community. In addition to her role as a Peacekeeper, Jen is the founder of Zanmi Hope Rising, an advocacy group for Hope Rising Children’s Home in Leogane, Haiti. She also volunteers for non-profits including Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, Salvation Army, and The Arkansas Foodbank. When Jen isn’t working or volunteering her time, she loves playing tennis, reading, and hosting tea parties.
