Meet Alice Fulk – WCF Board Member

Alice Fulk is a Little Rock native, and a product of the Little Rock public school system, where she graduated from Hall High School. She furthered her education at the University of Arkansas at UALR, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University. Alice is a twenty-five-year veteran of the Little Rock Police Department. Her education since joining the police department in 1992 has included; the Senior Management Institute for Police, Arkansas School of Law Enforcement Supervision, Arkansas Leader, and the Little Rock’s Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class XIV.

Alice joined the Police Department in 1992, and has held positions in patrol and investigative and various other roles within the Department. While in patrol, Fulk worked as a Community-Oriented Police Officer and a School Resource Officer before her 1998 promotion to Sergeant. She worked in the Training Division and Detective Divisions until her 2001 promotion to Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant, Fulk worked in both patrol and the Detective Division, until her promotion to Captain in 2003. As a Captain, Fulk commanded the Records and Support Division, the Northwest Patrol Division, the Internal Affairs Division, and the Major Crimes Division before being promoted to Assistant Chief of Police on May 14, 2015.

Her accomplishments far exceed the police work she is known for. She is member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and Infra Gard, serves on the Arkansas Municipal League Public Safety Advisory Board, and is also one of our very own board members.

Alice joined the board of WCF in October 2016. She recalls becoming connected to WCF through Facebook, from a simple picture post. Dawn Scott, a fellow WCF Board Member, emceed the Annual Police Awards and posted about it, which board president Cathy Browne saw. Cathy then reached out to Alice to see if she would be interested in touring the shelter and the rest is history. “I believe there is a reason that Cathy and I connected and became friends”, says Alice. “Because of that connection, I can use my experience and job to truly help victims of domestic violence. After working in the Detective Division for years and seeing the number of Domestic Violence victims, there’s always been a calling for me to help. Being aware of how the cycle repeats itself numerous times, I’ve always wanted to be part of the solution and never really knew how.” As a board member, Alice has helped to strengthen the partnership between WCF and local law enforcement and continues to use her position to help break the cycle of violence.
