Meet Rachel – WCF Peacekeeper

Rachel Harding joined the Peacekeepers about 7 years ago. One of her favorite PK memories is still one of her first events. Shortly after she joined, she helped with the shelter Valentine’s Day party. They had a t-shirt painting party, and of course Valentine’s candy. “I just remember the kids being so sweet and so excited about painting the shirts and getting their chocolates”, Rachel said. “That night, they totally melted my heart and I have been a PK ever since”.

Over the years, Rachel has been involved in several different ways. Most recently, she has chaired Vegas on the Rocks, the PKs annual Fall event, for the past two years. As chair of the 2015 event, she saw the revenue from the event double from the previous year and draw in new support for the shelter. The enthusiasm, new ideas, and attention to detail that she brought as the event chair helped make it the most successful year to date. Rachel is currently leading the committee this year as they get ready for the October 21st event, and once again it is on track to be a record breaking year.

Rachel was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. She attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. After graduating college, Rachel moved to the Virgin Islands where she worked for The Marriott. Rachel moved back to Little Rock and has been married to her husband, Buddy, for nearly 7 years. After selling cars for a few years at her family’s business, Parker Automotive Group, she decided to stay at home and focus on raising their little boy, “Five,” and their three dogs. She continues to stay involved in the community through several local charities.
